The segment picture was uneven. PPA sales declined 6% to $3.998 billion and operating profit fell 9% to $527 million, with a 13.2% margin. Lower shipment volume outweighed pricing and currency benefits. SAT sales increased 12% to $3.383 billion, operating profit rose 28% to $622 million, and margin expanded to 18.4%. CF sales increased 18% to $3.618 billion and operating profit rose 84% to $436 million, producing a 12.1% margin.
For the first nine months, total net sales and revenues rose 7% to $35.589 billion, but net income declined 4% to $3.808 billion. PPA nine-month sales fell 7% and operating profit declined 34%, showing continued pressure in large agriculture. SAT and CF offset much of that weakness. Deere recorded $110 million of tariff recoveries in Q3 and $382 million year to date, so reported results should not be extrapolated without normalizing this benefit.
